Colorado Community Church

Aurora, CO

Colorado Community Church had relocated at least 3 times during their existence when in 2017 they found a vacated former home improvement store just down the road and right in the center of their sphere of ministry in Aurora, Colorado. The building consisted of 91,000 s.f. of wide open space but had an undersized parking lot. The church was able to establish a long-term lease on a property across the street for an additional parking lot.
Lee Architects designed their new home to include a Worship Center for 1,750, a Chapel, elementary size Gymnasium, office space for a staff of 30, a large spacious Lobby with custom fireplace and Coffee Shop in addition to ample Children’s and Youth Ministry space. A structural column was removed in the Worship Center by internally replacing two beams with a new single open girder. The Worship Center features overhead lifting garage doors that open before and after service to enable quicker movement of people and better fellowship connection to the Lobby.
